The Logical Lifecycle
The Logical Lifecycle

The Logical Lifecycle is a map to the points throughout most projects at which evaluation and analysis might enable the reduction or elimination of wasted efforts, thereby facilitating the better usage of critical or constrained resources.

To not take immediate advantage of significant information as soon as it is revealed is wasteful. (PPE Truth #67)

There are rules that govern project success.  Following the rules increases your probability of succeeding.  Ignoring them increases your probability of failure.  Whether or not you choose to follow the rules indicates your risk tolerance.  But, if you choose to ignore the rules you'd better understand the consequences of your decision.  If you're making decisions without understanding how they might affect the outcome of your project... well, that's just stupid.

If you don’t have the patience, band-width, or discipline to execute projects properly you can save time and money by not starting any. (PPE Truth #135)
